The river's rapids are best enjoyed during medium to heavy stream flow, typically found during spring runoff and after heavy rains. The area is home to a diverse fish population, including northern pike, walleye, and brook trout, as well as turtles. Visitors can expect to spot bald eagles, deer, and otter during their trip. The campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and do not require a fee. It is essential to follow the rules for firewood, sanitation, and respect private property to protect the river and its environment.
