Diamond Lake Park is a 660-acre recreational area managed by Poweshiek County Conservation, located just outside of Montezuma, Iowa. The park features a 90-acre lake, a fish cleaning station, hiking trails, a playground, 4 shelter houses, paved bike trails, 100+ electrical and tent campsites, three shower houses, three restrooms, and 2 dump stations. The park offers opportunities for bikers and hikers, with a hard surface trail connecting to the City of Montezuma and several miles of grass trails around the main lake and a 7-acre pond. The park is an excellent recreational area for families to relax and appreciate nature, with a commitment to providing opportunities for families to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. The park's history dates back to the 1950s when it was built as a city reservoir for the City of Montezuma, and it remains their primary water source today. The park's relationship with the city and county government continues to help grow a strong local economy for Montezuma and Poweshiek County.
