About
This small section of the Appalachian Trail leads to the Crocker Mountains, two of Maine's 4,000 foot peaks. The Crocker Cirque campsite allows for an overnight hike and a connection with the Caribou Valley Road provides the opportunity for a loop. The hike is 16 miles round trip and has an elevation gain of 2000 feet, making it best enjoyed over a two day period. The campsite has tent platforms, a fire-place, and a privy, and is a convenient spot to spend a relaxing night and explore the Cirque.
