Corinth Recreation Area is a state-of-the-art campground located on the shores of the upper part of Lewis Smith Lake in Winston County, Alabama. Originally built in the 1960s and renovated in 1998, it sits within the 180,000+ acre Bankhead National Forest. The recreation area offers comprehensive facilities for camping, picnicking, swimming, and boating, with two camping loops containing 52 campsites with full hookups and eight rustic tent camping sites. The facility features four bathhouses with warm showers, a swimming beach with bathhouse, 29 family picnic sites, and a 100-person group picnic pavilion. Visitors can enjoy a 1.25-mile shoreline hiking path, year-round boat launches, and excellent fishing for Kentucky Spotted Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass on the 21,200-acre Lewis Smith Lake. The area is known for its remarkable natural diversity, being at the juncture of three geologic regions, and provides access to nearby attractions including the Little Natural Bridge and interpretive programs during summer months.
