About

Bovill, located 34 miles northeast of Moscow at the junction of Idaho Highways 3 and 8, is nestled in the scenic St. Joe National Forest along the Potlatch River. Named after the Bovills of England, Hugh Bovill brought his family to Idaho seeking new opportunities and established a ranch. As tourism grew, the Bovills opened a hotel, attracting vacationers to the area. Incorporated in 1907, Bovill boasts historic buildings the Bovill Hotel and remains a small community of around256 residents, offering outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and trails.
