Christie Campground is located in the Eagle Lake Recreation Area of Lassen National Forest, situated on the southwestern shoreline of Eagle Lake at an elevation of 5,100 feet. This campground is the least used and most spacious of five recreation area campgrounds, making it ideal for visitors seeking a quiet camping experience in a mature conifer forest. The campground features 69 sites with paved parking spurs, tables, and campfire rings, with nearly half offering pull-through parking. Nine sites are designated for groups. Christie's location provides direct access to Forest Service OHV trails and is popular with kayakers and fishing enthusiasts targeting the Eagle Lake Rainbow Trout, a California Heritage Trout. The area is connected by a 5.2-mile paved hiking and biking trail, and visitors can enjoy diverse recreational opportunities including swimming, skiing, and boating on the 22,000-acre lake, California's third-largest natural lake. Lassen Volcanic National Park is an easy day trip away.
