About
Chimney Pond Campground is a wilderness area within Baxter State Park, offering camping opportunities near the base of Abol Slide and the closest campground to Togue Pond Gate. The campground is open from May 15 to October 15, except for Chimney Pond which opens on June 1. Campsites have natural water sources, but no spigots or cooking or sleeping supplies are available for purchase within the park. There are no showers, only outhouses. Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 7 am. The campground provides access to numerous streams and ponds in the Kidney / Daicey area, as well as the Appalachian Trail and Katahdin via the Katahdin Trailheads.
