Chassahowitzka River Campground is a waterfront camping destination located just a short walk from the Chassahowitzka River, known in the Seminole language as the "River of Hanging Pumpkins." The campground offers both Full Hookup RV sites and Primitive Tent camping, making it suitable for various camping preferences. Both camping areas are partially shaded with mature oaks, cedars, pines, and palms, creating a natural forest setting. RV sites feature fire rings, picnic tables, 30 or 50 amp electrical service, sewer connections, potable water spigots, and WiFi throughout the park. The primitive tent area is separate and completely unpowered but includes fire rings, picnic tables, and communal water spigots. Beyond camping, the property serves as a gateway to spectacular scenery and wildlife viewing, with opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and observing manatees, dolphins, birds, and otters. The campground also offers kayak rentals for day visitors.
