About

The Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests & Thunder Basin National Grassland offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including dispersed camping, biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting & shooting, off-highway vehicles (OHV), picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The California Park/Black Mountain area is located in Northern Colorado, on the west side of the Routt National Forest, and is home to the Elkhead Mountains. The Flat Tops area is managed by the Yampa Ranger District, located in Yampa, Colorado, and offers scenic views and outdoor recreation. The park is open for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational activities of the area.
