About
Black Hawk Park is a 1,490-acre county park in Cedar Falls, Iowa, named after Chief Black Hawk of the Sauk Indian tribe. The park is one of the largest county parks in Iowa and forms a greenbelt called the Cedar River Wildlife Area from Cedar Falls to Cedar-Wapsi Rd. Bridge, four miles north. The park offers various facilities, including campgrounds, shelters, and shooting ranges. Visitors can enjoy activities such as biking, boating, camping, fishing, and hunting. The park is open all year round, weather and flood permitting, from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM. The campgrounds close on December 1 and reopen in the spring when weather permits.
