Camp Pollock is an 11-acre riverfront property located in the heart of the Lower American River Parkway, just north of downtown Sacramento between Discovery Park and Cal Expo. Managed by the Sacramento Valley Conservancy since 2013, this beautiful site features the historic 3,000 square foot Myrtle Johnston Lodge with wraparound porch and river deck, a picnic courtyard within a native plant garden, flat lawn space, and more than a mile of looping trails. The property is open to the general public daily from sunrise to sunset with free parking and is ideal for private events including weddings, staff retreats, family gatherings, and youth camps. Camp Pollock also hosts a Lower American River Native Plant Nursery offering drought-tolerant native plants, interpretive sign tours highlighting the riparian ecosystem, and organized group camping for educational purposes. The site serves as a community hub for nature education and outdoor recreation while supporting habitat conservation in the Sacramento Valley.
