About

Camp Cleghorn is an association of 41 cottage owners located on the south-east corner of Columbia lake. Founded in 1897 as a summer camp with the mission of educating campers on the virtues of temperance and persuading them to forswear 'demon' rum and all other alcoholic beverages. The camp has evolved over the years, offering summer camps for various youth groups in the 30's and preserving its natural resources, including a 20-acre wilderness area with Lost Lake. Today, the camp is dedicated to family Christian living, temperance, and preserving the natural environment. It offers Sunday services at the historic Cleghorn Chapel and works closely with the DNR to maintain the wilderness area as a resource for native plants and wildlife.
