Bushytail Campground is nestled in a grove of tall Douglas firs and Ponderosa Pines within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, just a short distance from Trinity Lake. This campground serves as an excellent base for enjoying a variety of water sports, sightseeing, and outdoor activities, making it ideal for single families and small groups. The area is part of the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area and sits at an elevation of 2,370 feet, surrounded by the Trinity Alps. Trinity Lake offers abundant recreational opportunities including boating, water skiing, sailing, swimming, and fishing for catfish, salmon, trout, and bass. The nearby historic town of Weaverville, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, provides restaurants, shopping, and self-guided walking tours. Wildlife in the area includes black bears, bobcats, mountain lions, and various bird species.
