The Tonto National Forest offers a wide range of recreation opportunities, including biking, climbing, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, outdoor science and learning, and picnicking. The forest is open for public use, but it's essential to check the Conditions Report and individual recreation site page before heading out. Recreation Fee Dollars are invested in public safety, recreation site maintenance, educational experiences, and more, benefiting current and future generations. The forest is managed by the Forest Service, a government organization responsible for the conservation and management of national forests and grasslands.
