Brookchar Campground is a small, tent-only facility located on the banks of Big Lake in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. It is one of five campgrounds on the lake and is the closest to the water. The campground is surrounded by scenic forested areas with ponderosa pine, fir, spruce, and aspen trees, as well as high elevation meadows. The area is popular for fishing, with a stocked lake and boat rentals available. Campers can enjoy the lake's blue waters and scenic surroundings, with a campground host on-site to provide assistance. The facility is small, with 12 tent-only, walk-to campsites, and offers basic amenities such as campfire rings and restrooms. A dump station, store, firewood, gas, food, and boat rentals are located nearby, and showers are available within a short drive.
