About
The Malheur National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including camping and cabin rentals. The forest has 4 former guard stations and one lookout available for public rental. Visitors can enjoy activities such as biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting & shooting, off-highway vehicles (OHV), outdoor science and learning, picnicking, water activities, and winter sports. The forest is managed by the Forest Service, and visitors are encouraged to follow rules and recommendations for dispersed camping. The Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA) requires at least 80% of recreation fees to stay on the forests and grasslands where they were collected and reinvest that money to support local site operations and maintenance.
