About
Big Knot Campsite is a designated backcountry campsite area along the trails. Camping is by permit only, and you must obtain your actual backcountry permit at the park office at least two hours before dark. Each campsite is slightly different in size and capacity, and you must stay at the site or sites listed on your permit. The campsite has limited water availability during warmer months, and you must be cautious when having a campfire. You must set up camp near or within 50' of the fire-ring and build fires with dead, down on the ground wood.
