Bear Lake Camp Ground is a 107-acre artificial impoundment located on Bear Creek in the Blackwater River State Forest, approximately 2.5 miles east of Munson, Florida. The lake features flooded timber and has a maximum depth of 23 feet with an average depth of 8 feet. The campground offers both electric and non-electric campsites, making it suitable for various camping preferences. Visitors can enjoy multiple recreational activities including fishing, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking. The area features several well-maintained trails, including the 4-mile Bear Lake Loop Trail that encircles the lake, the 1.3-mile Sweetwater Trail connecting to Krul Recreation Area, and a 6-mile mountain bike trail. The campground includes a group dining hall with kitchen available by reservation, restrooms with showers, and boat ramps. Swimming is not permitted due to the presence of alligators.
