The Bass Lake Campsite is located on the western shore of the 290-acre Bass Lake in the Hiawatha National Forest. It is a rustic forest environment with no drinking water, offering a serene and peaceful setting for camping. The campsite is suitable for one small family trailer, with carry-in access for site users only. Visitors can enjoy swimming, berry picking, and fishing, with licenses required for fishing in Michigan waters. The nearby area offers horse, bike, and hiking trails, as well as access to bait shops, general and grocery stores, gas, a pay phone, trailheads, a fishing pier, biking, and kayak/canoe rentals. Gasoline, groceries, fishing and camping supplies, boat rentals, ice, and MDNR licenses are available at Steuben, approximately three miles to the Northeast on County Road 437.
