Spokane Tribal Rangers duties include the Protection of people, property, wildlife, natural resources, cultural resource protection, conservation enforcement, and the sale of non-member Camping and Fishing permits. The tribe operates 23 campgrounds on Lake Roosevelt, with a focus on cultural protection and natural resource conservation. Rangers patrol the lake and campgrounds year-round, educating visitors about cultural protection and enforcing regulations. During peak camping months, the maintenance crew is responsible for picking up garbage and performing routine maintenance on campground structures. The Spokane Tribe of Indians vision is to achieve true sovereignty by attaining self-sufficiency, preserving and enhancing traditional values, and developing strong leadership through education and accountability.
