About
Umpqua National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including camping and cabins. The forest has three ranger districts: Cottage Grove, Diamond Lake, and North Umpqua. The Cottage Grove Ranger District features lush mixed conifer forests, mountain creeks, and waterfalls. The Diamond Lake Ranger District boasts multiple recreation opportunities year-round, with Umpqua's tallest mountains, largest lakes, and access to three different wilderness areas. The North Umpqua Ranger District is centered around the North Umpqua River and offers scenic drives, hiking trails, and fishing opportunities. Visitors can enjoy outdoor science and learning, picnicking, scenic drives, and winter sports. The forest is open for climbing and caving, fishing, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, and winter sports.
