About

Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Area features an expanse of predominately wet flatwoods that has mostly been converted to improved pasture. The area offers excellent hiking and bicycling opportunities, with a 1.5-mile long, user-friendly shellrock road leading to a panoramic open vista of marsh frequented by wading birds. Visitors can also enjoy the land by following the equestrian trails on horseback. The dark night sky in this rural area makes Allapattah a great place for stargazing, and the area is open for hunting at certain times of the year. The area is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
